President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, days after the governor secured a second term in office.

Adeleke arrived at the Villa at about 5:25pm, dressed in a navy-blue traditional outfit and carrying a walking stick. He stepped out of a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

The visit marked Adeleke’s first meeting with Tinubu since his victory in the August 15 governorship election.

The governor’s visit came shortly after Tinubu personally congratulated him on his re-election, describing the result as an assurance that democracy would continue to thrive in Nigeria.

The President had also urged Adeleke to use his renewed mandate to promote unity among the people of Osun State, irrespective of their political affiliations during the election.

Several other Osun government and political officials were also seen arriving at the Villa shortly after the governor.

Those spotted included the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; the Osun State Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and the member representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam.

Further details of the meeting were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
