Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 34-year-old Ugandan woman, Farida Nansubuga, for attempting to smuggle 1.15 kilogrammes of cocaine out of Nigeria.
Nansubuga was apprehended on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, during a passenger screening exercise at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, shortly before boarding a flight to Uganda.
The NDLEA disclosed that the illicit substance, packaged in 87 wraps, was discovered concealed around her pelvic region and secured beneath two layers of underwear.
In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the agency said a preliminary body search raised suspicion, prompting officers to conduct a more thorough examination in a designated private room, where the cocaine was recovered.
Investigations revealed that Nansubuga arrived in Nigeria on October 29, 2026, alongside members of her church for a religious programme at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), located in the Ikotun-Egbe area of Lagos.
