The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police to various state commands and strategic formations across the country following the approval of his recommendations by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
According to the statement, the deployment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, improve leadership across commands and formations, and advance the ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
Under the new postings, CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo was deployed to Abia State, while CP Ayodeji Faniyan was posted to Plateau State. CP Saka Adewale Ajao was assigned to Bayelsa State, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to Cross River State, CP Nanna Oji Ama to Anambra State, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo State, CP Tani Murtala to Jigawa State and CP Samuel Erale to Delta State.
The Inspector-General also approved the deployment of several Commissioners of Police to strategic departments and formations, including the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Department of Training and Development, Department of Finance and Administration, Counter Terrorism Unit, Police Academy, Police Staff College and Anti-Human Trafficking Units across Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Gombe.
The police chief charged the affected senior officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by bringing their professional experience to bear in their new assignments.
He urged them to strengthen intelligence-led policing, improve operational effectiveness, uphold professionalism and deepen community engagement while remaining committed to protecting lives and property.
Disu also emphasised the need for discipline, accountability and quality service delivery, noting that strategic personnel deployments remain a key part of the Force’s reform agenda aimed at improving internal capacity and enhancing policing across the country.
