Thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna State on Saturday ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s arrival for the party’s campaign flag-off for the 2027 presidential election.

The supporters began arriving at the venue as early as 7am, creating a colourful and lively atmosphere as preparations for the political gathering gathered momentum.

Major roads leading to the stadium were barricaded, while party faithful dressed in APC-branded shirts, caps and traditional outfits sang, danced and waved party flags in anticipation of the arrival of Tinubu and other party leaders.

The crowd chanted various campaign slogans in Hausa and English, including “Asiwaju, Uba Sani for Second Term,” “Tinubu Again,” “Tinubu Our Father,” “Speaker Abbas for Tinubu” and “Tinubu Continuity.”

Many supporters also wore T-shirts, caps and hijabs bearing the president’s photographs, APC insignia and images of political leaders, particularly the governors of Kaduna and Kano states.

As of about 10am, the stadium’s seating sections and main bowl were filled with supporters awaiting the arrival of the president, governors and other APC chieftains. The VIP section, however, remained largely unoccupied as dignitaries were yet to arrive.

The rally marks the commencement of the APC’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with governors, party leaders and supporters expected to mobilise behind Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

The gathering also comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the next general election, as parties begin to consolidate support and mobilise their bases across the country.
