Mandiya reportedly died on Monday, September 7, 2026, with the news confirmed by Ibrahim Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda.
Governor Radda described the death as a major loss to Katsina State and Nigeria, expressing shock and grief over the passing of the former senator.
He said Mandiya was a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the development of the state and country would be remembered.
Mandiya previously served as Chief of Staff to former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari before his election to the Senate in 2019, where he represented Katsina South until 2023.
According to Radda, the deceased brought valuable experience to both state and federal public service, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and service.
The governor extended his condolences to Mandiya’s family, former Governor Masari, the people of Katsina South, his political associates and friends, as well as members of the Ninth Senate.
Radda prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy for the deceased and asked God to grant his family and loved ones the strength to cope with the loss.
