Nigeria’s U-20 men’s national team, the Flying Eagles, have arrived in Côte d’Ivoire ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where they will begin the defence of their regional title.
The reigning champions touched down in Abidjan on Monday before travelling by road to Yamoussoukro, the tournament’s host city, where the team is lodged at the Trio Corridor Hotel.
Aliyu Zubairu’s side will kick off their campaign against arch-rivals Ghana’s Black Satellites on Monday at the Lycée Scientifique Stadium in what will be a repeat of the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship final in Lomé, where Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory to claim the title.
The Flying Eagles will then take on Togo’s Sparrow Hawks on Thursday before concluding their Group B fixtures against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions on Sunday, August 2.
Nigeria will be seeking to retain the WAFU B U-20 Championship trophy as the team continues preparations for future continental competitions
