Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has reported at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning over alleged inciting remarks.
Fadahunsi arrived at the command at about 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday in the company of the Commissioner of Police responsible for election and security matters, Samuel Erale.
The senator was invited by the police over comments he was alleged to have made concerning members of the Accord Party in Ilesa.
The development comes days before Saturday’s governorship election, with the police having cautioned politicians and other stakeholders against statements capable of provoking tension or disrupting the electoral process.
The command is expected to question the senator over the remarks as part of its efforts to maintain peace and security before, during and after the election.
