Big Brother Naija has unveiled its first major twist of the season with the introduction of ‘The Gambit’, a new game feature that will secure two housemates a place in the grand finale but deny them the opportunity to win the show’s ₦160 million grand prize.
The surprise twist was announced by Biggie during Monday’s live session with the housemates, while organisers simultaneously launched a public vote on the show’s official social media platforms for viewers to choose one male and one female contestant for the role.
Under the new format, the male and female housemates who receive the highest number of votes will automatically remain in the competition until the final day of the season. However, despite being guaranteed a place in the finale, they will not be eligible to claim the grand prize.
Announcing the development, the organisers described The Gambit as a position that offers a powerful advantage but comes with a significant sacrifice.
According to them, there will be no eviction this week as fans will instead determine which two contestants will occupy the special role.
Speaking to the housemates, Biggie explained that the twist rewards longevity in the game while removing the chance of becoming the overall winner.
He said the selected contestants would remain in the house until the end of the competition, participate in all tasks, earn rewards and enjoy every aspect of the Big Brother experience, but would be excluded from the race for the ₦160 million cash prize.
Voting has already commenced, with all contestants eligible except the current Head of House, Chimsom Chuka, who is not part of the voting process.
The introduction of The Gambit comes just a day after the launch of the new season, which welcomed a fresh set of housemates and saw Chimsom Chuka emerge as the first Head of House.
The latest twist has already sparked conversations among viewers, adding another layer of strategy to the competition as fans continue to assess early alliances, personalities and gameplay.
