The Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Yahya Saidu, has died at a hospital in Kaduna, barely three months after assuming office.
The Adamawa State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) announced his death in a statement on Saturday, expressing sadness over the loss.
The state ALGON Chairman, Titus Obadiah, described Saidu as a dedicated leader whose contributions to Fufore and Adamawa State would be greatly missed.
Obadiah said he received the news of Saidu’s death with deep sorrow and total submission to the will of Almighty God.
He extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, associates and residents of Fufore, describing the death as a significant loss to the local government and Adamawa State.
The ALGON chairman also prayed for God to grant the bereaved family and the people of Fufore the strength and comfort to cope with the loss.
Saidu was sworn in as chairman of Fufore Local Government Area on July 15, 2026, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His death comes about 17 months after his predecessor, Shuaibu Babas, died in office on April 23, 2025.
