Twenty prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a civilian have been rescued after they were abducted while travelling through Imo State.
The victims were rescued in an intelligence-led operation involving the military, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.
The operation followed intelligence gathered by security agencies on the whereabouts of the victims, leading to their successful recovery.
The 21 rescued persons are currently receiving medical attention at a DSS facility, while security agencies have commenced investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the abduction.
Efforts are also ongoing to identify and arrest other suspects linked to the incident.
