It was a tension soaked encounter yesterday as Super Eagles of Nigeria tackled Wild dogs of Guinea Bissau in the final group A match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The only goal of the encounter was scored in 37th minutes via own goal after a cross from Moses Simon was diverted to his own net by Opa Sangate. All effort to increase the tally by the two countries proved abortive as many scoring chances were missed and the match ended in one goal to nothing.
With the outcome of the encounter, Nigeria came second on the log with seven points same with the group leader Equatorial Guinea who humiliated the host nation with four goals to nothing but with superior goals difference.
Nigeria will play runner up or second runner up in group C in round of 16.
