During his sold-out show at Tottenham Stadium in London, UK, Grammy award-winning Nigerian musician, Wizkid, aka Ayodeji Balogun, reportedly threw his expensive ring while flinging his jacket to the enthusiastic crowd on Saturday night.
The ring is said to be worth £100,000 (approximately N85 million), according to popular British-Nigerian podcaster, Adesope Olajide. In an Instagram live session with fans, Adesope expressed regret for leaving the front row when the ring fell, revealing that he had successfully caught Zlatan Ibile and Diamond Platnumz’s rings at their concerts in the past.
Adesope lamented, “Why did I leave that front row at Wizkid’s show when that ring was about to fall? Ah! I have caught Zlatan and Diamond Platnumz’s rings before. These are thousands of pounds and dollars. Obviously, the Wiz ring, that would have been the one. I’m honest. I could sell it for like £100k.
“Despite the ring incident, Wizkid made history as the first African artiste to sell out the 80,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, an impressive achievement that follows Burna Boy’s recent sell-out at the London Stadium. Both artists have solidified their status as global music icons and have garnered immense support from fans and fellow musicians worldwide.
The momentous concert was graced by the presence of prominent football stars, including Bukayo Saka, Alex Iwobi, and Eddie Nketiah, further adding to the excitement and celebration of Wizkid’s remarkable milestone.
