Alaba International Market in Lagos State was on Monday, sealed by the Lagos State Government over poor waste disposal practices among others.
Commissioner for Environment in the state, Tokunbo Wahab disclsoed this in a short statement on monday.
“Alaba International Market, Ojo has been sealed up for poor waste disposal practices, failure to pay their waste bills, and gross environmental sanitation offences,” he wrote.
This the latest in the series of shutting down of markets and demolition of illegal structures by the Lagos State Government.
Recall that the state government recently sealed but later reopened the Mile 12 International Market.
Also, the Owode Onirin Market along Ikorodu Road was also shut following indiscriminate waste disposal.
