The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has received a certificate of participation for the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers at the Landmark Event Centre, Owerri, the Imo State capital.
IGP Egbetokun, after receiving his certificate, in turn, presented certificates of participation to his Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs).
The three-day event, is geared towards improving the Nigeria Police Force as well as taking concrete steps towards improving internal security across the country.
After the presentation of the certificate of participation, the four panels/syndicate groups of senior officers which were constituted to deliberate on issues that concerns the force, presented their deliberations and recommendations before the conference.
These syndicate groups include ‘Service Scheme for the Nigeria Police Force’, ‘Professionalizing the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID)’, ‘Re-orientation Programme for Officers and Men of the Nigeria Police Force’, and ‘Police Pension Scheme: Review of Changes in Pension Scheme and Suggestion of Further Changes’.
This is with a view to achieving the vision statement and police Nigeria as expected of the Force.
The retreat is the first in the life of the new administration of President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
