Ahead of Wednesday’s judgment to be delivered by the Presidential Election Petition Court, the Presidency has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not worried because he knows he won the February 25, 2023 presidential election.
The President’s Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, who appeared live on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Monday, asserted that the President believes in the sanctity and integrity of the Nigerian judicial system so sees no need to threaten judicial officers.
“He (Tinubu) is not worried simply because he knows he won the election.
“The President sees no need to threaten judicial officers. He sees no need to raise speculations against the integrity of judicial officers; he believes in the sanctity and integrity of the Nigerian judicial system, he believes the great men and women on the panel will make their decisions based only on the facts before them.
“He will continue to ensure that no matter what the outcome of the judgment is, he does his part and ensure that our institutions continue to be respected, not just by him, but all actors,” he said.
It would be recalled that the tribunal had reserved judgment on the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) contesting the election results.
Aside from giving the verdict on Wednesday, the Tribunal also granted that the Court proceedings can be transmitted live broadcast by interested television stations.
