The electoral victory of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State was on Saturday, reaffirmed by the Adamawa State Governorship Election Tribunal.
In its ruling, the three-man led by Justice Theodora Uloho struck out the demands of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Aisha Binani Dahiru for lacking in merit.
According to the tribunal, Fintiri fulfilled all the requirements of the electoral law to be returned as the winner while the petitioners failed to prove their case.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Fintiri, who is the incumbent governor as winner of the polls.
After the drama-filled election and its supplementary, Binani and other candidates approached the Tribunal seeking the nullification of the victory of Fintiri.
However, the tribunal upheld the second-term victory of the incumbent governor.
In his reaction to the tribunal judgment, Fintiri commended the judiciary and described the judgment as a victory for democracy and the people.
