One of the serving ministers in the government of President Bola Tinubu has narrowly escaped death after a flight he was flying in skidded off track at the Ibadan Airport in the Alakia area of Oyo State’s capital.
The name of the minister has not been disclosed.
According to reports, the incident which happened during the aircraft’s landing, led to the plane veering off its intended path and into the nearby bush.
No lives, reports added, were lost and no damage was reported.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the State Fire Service, Federal Fire Services, and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, helped to manage the situation.
The Aircraft departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The General Manager of the State Fire Service, Yemi Adeyimika confirmed the incident.
Adeyimika noted that the prompt intervention from multiple fire service teams effectively controlled the situation.
