The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun says this year’s Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers is the best he has attended.
IGP Egbetokun stated this at the dinner of the conference on Wednesday which signifies the end of the Retreat which began on Monday, October 30th.
According to him, he had attended three of the annual retreats in the past when he was Commissioner of Police, CP, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) twice.
He commended the four syndicate groups which were constituted to deliberate on issues that concern the force for doing justice to the topics assigned to them.
These include ‘Service Scheme for the Nigeria Police Force’, ‘Professionalizing the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID)’, ‘Re-orientation Programme for Officers and Men of the Nigeria Police Force’, and ‘Police Pension Scheme: Review of Changes in Pension Scheme and Suggestion of Further Changes’.
This is to achieve the vision statement and police Nigeria as expected of the Force.
The IGP thanked the Imo state government for its support.
The dinner night had in attendance, Governor Hope Uzodinma, represented by his deputy, the Secretary to the State Government, Cosmos Iwu, Senior Police Officers, and other dignitaries.
