A former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has set an agenda for the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso following his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
The Senate on Tuesday, confirmed the
nomination of Cardoso as the substantive CBN governor.
Additionally, the Senate confirmed the nomination of four deputy governor nominees for the apex bank.
Reacting to the confirmation of Cardoso, Sani in a tweet on his official X handle, said much is expected from the new apex bank helmsman.
He listed some things Cardoso should do, rescuing the national currency, resetting the monetary policy, and depoliticising the institution.
“Much expectation from the new CBN Governor Cardoso; to rescue our National Currency, reset the monetary policy and depoliticise the institution.”
The former lawmaker also called on Cardoso to “Avoid political rice farmers, fake pyramids, forex Sponges and Banking parasites.”
