Napoli’s coach Rudi Garcia has strongly criticized the offers coming in from Saudi Arabia for striker Victor Osimhen, terming them as ‘indecent.’ This comment comes shortly after Al-Hilal expressed an increased interest in the recently crowned Capocannoniere.
Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian team that has recently signed players such as Malcom, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Kalidou Koulibaly, reportedly extended an offer with a contract value of a staggering €50 million net per season.
Speaking to Sky Italia following Napoli’s 1-0 preseason victory against FC Augsburg, secured by Amir Rrahmani’s solitary header, Garcia shed light on the exorbitant offers in the current transfer market.
Garcia mentioned, “There are players who are at the end of their career and then it is understandable that they go to Saudi Arabia.
Anyone in the world would not refuse these offers, which is indecent at times. But when you’re a fully mature player, when your best seasons arrive, you don’t even look at this. I’m not Victor, so ask him.”
Victor Osimhen, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker, is currently in the midst of a contract renewal negotiation with Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis.
According to reports from Sky Italia, Napoli is contemplating the inclusion of a separate release clause for clubs based in Saudi Arabia, potentially double the value of that applicable to European clubs.
