The Public Relations Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has called on Nigerians to report any policeman who forcefully collects and searches their phones or electronic equipment.
ACP Adejobi advised in a post on his handle on Wednesday.
According to him, the action is not proper, not professional.
He, however, said the policemen can only scrutinise their phones when such is subject to an investigation and already marked exhibit, and such is not done on the road.
“So, any policeman who searches the phone on the road is deviant and violates the order of the IGP and negates our SOP. He should be sanctioned,” the force spokesman said.
