The police in Lagos State have said the autopsy result of the late singer, Mohbad has not been given to them.
This is already two months since the body of the late singer was exhumed and an autopsy was conducted on it to unravel the circumstances that led to his sudden death.
Mohbad died on September 12, and his demise sparked controversies in Nigeria and beyond, prompting the police to set up an investigative team to determine what led to the singer’s demise.
A spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin had in September said an “autopsy has been concluded” and the police were “awaiting result.”
The then Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Idowu Owohunwa had in October, named prime suspects linked to the death of the singer.
He revealed that the deceased vomited and developed goosebumps after he was injected three times by a nurse, Feyisayo Ogedemgbe, on September 12, 2023.
After their arrest, some of the suspects were charged in court and last Friday, the command freed singer, Naira Marley and Sam Larry after the two met their bail conditions.
The duo was arrested as part of an investigation into Mohbad’s death after videos of assault against the late singer surfaced online.
Hundeyin, in a response to an inquiry on the release of Mohbad’s autopsy report, said the command had yet to get the report officially.
Hundeyin said, “The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been carrying rumours that it’s ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be given to us officially – that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it. So, we don’t work with rumours, we work with facts.”
