The Police in Anambra State have rescued an aged woman being cruelly treated by her 50-year-old biological daughter, Ukamaka Udeugbo, at Umudunu village, Abagana area of the State.
The aged woman was rescued on Saturday following a viral video clip.
In the video recording, the suspect was seen flogging her mother repeatedly and throwing buckets of water at her as she lay on the floor.
According to the Police Spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has directed the transfer of the case to State CID in the public interest and has authorized that the aged woman be handed to Commissioner for Women Affairs for adequate care by the State Government.
He added that the suspect would be arraigned in Court at the end of the investigation.
