The Oyo State Command has commended and honoured three of its officers for distinguishing themselves in character and discipline.
The three officers; Tunmise Adedire, Dauda Nuhu, and Isaac Omoniwa were said to have assisted a woman in fixing her punctured tyre some weeks ago after her vehicle broke down on the highway.
The policemen attached to the Swift Response Squad (SRS) under the Department of Operations of the command were given commendation letters on Monday by the CP of the Oyo police command, Adebola Hamzat at Eleyele Ibadan.
A statement issued by the Spokesman of the state police command, SP Osifeso Adewale, said officers all acted in alignment with the dynamic vision and strategic policies of the acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The vision of the IGP is to have a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law compliant, and people-friendly Police Force.
“The Officers; Tunmise Adedire, Dauda Nuhu, and Isaac Omoniwa all acted in alignment with the dynamic vision and strategic policies of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, Ag.IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, towards having a professionally competent, service-driven, rule of law compliant, and people friendly Police Force thus embracing the ongoing Police reforms in a bid to positively redirect all competences for optimal service delivery against the backdrop of responsive policing tailored to specificities and needs of residents of Oyo State at large,” the statement reads.
“While conveying the felicitations of the IGP, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Adebola Hamzat, appreciated the Officers for their favourable disposition to their duties and encouraged others to emulate the professionalism and kindness displayed by the recipients of the commendation.”
