The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, recently extended a warm welcome to two remarkable Super Falcon players, Rofiat Imuran, and Rasheedat Ajibade. These exceptional athletes showcased their talent during the Women’s World Cup, a tournament co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Although Nigeria was eliminated in the Round of 16 by England in a penalty shootout, the governor’s reception was a recognition of the football stars’ exceptional performance throughout the competition.
Rofiat Imuran, hailing from the Ile-Ogbo region of the state, was born on June 17, 2004. As a skilled defender, she earned her place in Nigeria’s 23-player squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Notably, she is also a key player for Stade de Reims.
Another standout athlete, Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, hails from the Eêsorun area of Oke-ba compound in Ikirun, Osun State.
Born on December 8, 1999, she is fondly referred to as “RASH,” a playful abbreviation of her name. Recognized for her vibrant blue hairstyle, she is affectionately known as “The Girl With The Blue Hair.” Currently, Rasheedat plays as a forward for the Spanish Liga F club, Atlético Madrid, showcasing her exceptional skills on the field.
