Barely 24 hours after 84 members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) were expelled over alleged anti-party activities, APC has suspended another 26 members of the party for fractionalizing the party.
According to a statement issued by the party Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, on Thursday, the suspension followed the outcome of an investigation into allegations bordering on factionalization of the party and creating parallel party organ leveled against the suspended members, who all are supporters of the ex- governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
“This disciplinary measure came in response to the allegations of misconduct bordering on factionalization of the party and creating a parallel party organ.
“The Disciplinary Committee undertook a thorough and impartial review of the allegations and the findings were carefully deliberated upon by the State Executive Committee,” the statement read.
Prominent among those suspended are former Senator Mudashiru Hussain, former Speaker, Osun House of Assembly under Aregbesola’s administration, Najeem Salaam and former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti.
The Chairman of the defunct The Osun Progressives, Adebiyi Adelowo; former Aregbesola’s Commissioner for Information, Adelani Baderinwa, Sikiru Ayedun, Engr. Kazeem Salami, ex-Deputy State APC chairman, Adesiji Azeez; Barr. Gbenga Akano and Kunle Ige.
Others are Biodun Agboola, Barr. Gbenga Awosode, Rasheed Opatola, Gbenga Ogunkanmi, Israel Oyekunle, MBO Ibraheem, Akeem Olaoye, Francis Famurewa, Tajudeen Famuyide, Hon. (Mrs.) Adenike Abioye, Wasiu Adebayo and Rasheed Afolabi, Segun Olanibi, Tunde Ajilore, Ganiyu Ismaila, Zakariah Khalid of Olaoluwa-South LCDA.
Meanwhile, the 84 members expelled over misconduct and actions that embarrassed and brought the party to disrepute are Akibu Olaiya – Iwo LG, Yekeen Ajoke Nafisat – Iwo LG, Wakeel Mutaleeb Adekunle – Iwo East LCDA, Olufunke Akano – Iwo East LCDA, Olatunji Idowu Ajoke- Iwo West LCDA, Ajala Abayomi – Ayedire LG.
Adegboyega Semiu Adeniyi – Ayedire LG, Sabitu Rofiat Omolayo – Ayedire South LCDA, Oladeji Ismail – Ayedire South LCDA, Tajudeen Akanbi – Olaoluwa LG, Oyediran Quasim – Olaoluwa LG, Ajetunmobi Moshood – Olaoluwa South LCDA.
Akintoye Opeyemi – Irewole LG, Akerele Sunday – Irewole LG, Pastor Peter Olaawo – Irewole LCDA, Orisatola Surajudeen A. – Irewole LCDA, Shariat O. Olaniyi – Ayedaade LG, Akeem Olodude – Ayedaade LG.
