Nollywood actress Mimi Orjiekwe has found herself in legal trouble, as she was reportedly arrested and detained by The Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Ikoyi, Lagos state on Monday night.
The arrest comes in connection with an alleged failure to fulfill a contract worth a staggering N700,000,000 awarded to her by a businessman named Mr. Micheal Diongoli.
According to blogger “Cuttie Julls,” Mr. Micheal Diongoli paid the substantial sum directly to Mimi Orjiekwe for a procurement contract to supply specific household interior-design furniture items. However, it is claimed that Mimi failed to deliver on the agreement.
Insiders have revealed that Mimi Orjiekwe has been on the run for nearly two months following her receipt of the N700 million naira payment from the businessman. Her alleged absence raises suspicions about her intentions and the use of the funds.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, it is rumored that Mimi previously expressed confidence that Mr. Micheal Diongoli would face legal consequences due to his issues with the Nigerian Interpol.
However, fate took an unexpected turn as Mr. Micheal Diongoli was released by Interpol and has been eagerly waiting for Mimi to fulfill her end of the agreement.
The situation has captured public attention and drawn significant interest on social media platforms, where the details of the arrest and the alleged contract scam have been widely shared.
As the case unfolds, the public awaits further updates on the legal proceedings and the resolution of the matter.
