The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the acting Inspector General of Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Egbetokun, 48 hours ultimatum to order Police operatives to immediately vacate the occupation of the National Secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
This was disclosed in a communique issued at the end of an emergency National Administrative Council (NAC) meeting on Monday.
The organized Labour also asked President Bola Tinubu to urgently clear his name, which is being peddled by those who have forcefully taken over the NURTW’s secretariat with the aid of security operatives.
It would be recalled that the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has issued a fresh warning regarding an alleged plot by some leaders of the South West States Park Management Committee to incite violence and attack its national secretariat in Garki Area 2, Abuja.
