The Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Gold Chibuisi has charged officers and troops in the Theatre to exhibit a high level of proficiency and professionalism in the Counter Improvised Explosive Devised effort of the operation in all aspect of the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency operations in the zone.

icer (TTO) Brig Gen SJA Ilori gave the charge on Tuesday, 5 September 2023 while declaring open a two-day workshop organized on Counter-Improvised Explosive Device held at the Theatre Training School (TTS) in Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.
In his opening remarks, the Theatre Commander OPHK stated th
at the workshop is organised for Subalterns and non-commissioned Officers are drawn from units and formations within the North East Theatre of Operation.
General Chibuisi further disclosed that the workshop is organised in line with the COAS Command Philosophy which is, “To Transform the NA into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated Force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment”.
He added that the workshop is to bring participants up to speed and keep them abreast with the current techniques employed by the terrorists in IED tactics.
Additionally, General Gold Chibuisi pointed out that the knowledge gained from the workshop would improve the Counter-Improvised Explosive Device strategy of OPHK and also enhance the proficiency of troops in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the coordinator of the workshop Commander 47 Engineer Brigade, Brig Gen KO Ukandu stated that the workshop would expose participants to recognising terrorist IEDs, ground signs as well and actions to be taken on detection of an IED.
Present during the opening ceremony were the Chief of Staff Headquarters Theatre Command Brig Gen A Idris, Theatre intelligence coordinator Brig Gen B Sarki, and other Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command and 7 Division as well as the participants.
