Governor Dauda Lawal approved the appointment, which takes effect immediately.
0The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada, announced the development in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant (Media), Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
Baraya comes into the position with extensive experience in the state’s public service. Before his appointment, he served as Permanent Secretary at the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission and had previously headed several ministries as Permanent Secretary.
The state government described him as a seasoned administrator with strong knowledge of public service operations and institutional management.
Governor Lawal also praised the outgoing Head of Service, Haidara, for his years of dedication and contributions to the development of the state civil service, wishing him a rewarding retirement.
The governor urged Baraya to bring his wealth of experience to bear by promoting professionalism, discipline and productivity among civil servants.
He further tasked the new Head of Service with improving efficiency across the state workforce and ensuring that the civil service supports the administration’s Rescue Agenda.
