The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reunited with the political camp that supported his emergence as governor, describing the development as the end of the prolonged political crisis in the state.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday after inspecting ongoing projects, including the ISEX Road Corridor and the Apo-Karshi Road in Abuja, Wike said the reconciliation marked a fresh chapter for Rivers politics and stressed that returning to the political family was the most practical path forward for the governor.
The former Rivers State governor maintained that the dispute between both camps had been resolved, dismissing claims that Fubara owed anyone an apology or forgiveness.
According to Wike, politics should not be viewed through the lens of personal grievances, insisting that there is “no sin in politics.”
He expressed optimism that the renewed political understanding in Rivers State would strengthen the support base of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
