The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.
The examination body made the announcement on Wednesday through its official X account, urging candidates to visit its online portal to access their results.
“UPDATE: 2026 WASSCE (SC) results have been released. Generate your PIN at waec.org and check your results now on waecdirect.org,” WAEC stated.
The 2026 WASSCE was conducted nationwide between April 21 and June 19, with more than 1.9 million candidates participating in the examination.
WAEC explained that candidates must first obtain their examination Serial Number and Personal Identification Number (PIN) before they can access their results.
According to the council, candidates should visit its official website and select the “Serial Number and PIN” option. They will then be required to choose the appropriate examination year and diet, enter their examination number and National Identification Number (NIN), ensuring the NIN matches the one used during registration.
Candidates are also expected to provide a valid email address and phone number to receive a One-Time Password (OTP). Once the OTP is verified, they can retrieve their Serial Number and PIN.
The recovered credentials can then be used on the WAEC Direct portal to check their examination results.
The release of the results follows the successful conclusion of the 2026 WASSCE, which was held across Nigeria from April 21 to June 19.
