The developments were disclosed in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
According to the statement, the operations, conducted between September 7 and 8, followed intelligence-led deployments and swift responses by police tactical, marine and investigative teams.
In Akwa Ibom State, police tactical teams and marine operatives foiled a suspected kidnapping operation along the Oron waterways after raiding a suspected kidnappers’ camp at Mma Adiaha Creek.
The suspects reportedly fled on sighting the operatives, abandoning an English pump-action gun, two live cartridges, two speedboats and four outboard engines.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Uyo, is investigating the case.
In Katsina State, a joint team of police and military personnel repelled an alleged attack by armed bandits along Kurami Road.
The attackers reportedly fled into the bush following the intervention of the security operatives. One victim was rescued unhurt, while another later returned safely to his residence.
The vehicle involved in the attack, which had eight bullet holes and deflated tyres, was also recovered.
In Delta State, police operatives acting on intelligence raided a suspected criminal gathering at Pleasure Bush Bar, Aragba-Orogun, arresting eight suspected cultists.
A subsequent search of a suspect’s residence led to the recovery of a pump-action gun, one live cartridge and five mobile phones.
In a separate case in the state, police arrested a principal suspect in connection with the death of an 87-year-old woman following an alleged assault. Efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects believed to be at large.
In the FCT, police operatives recovered a Hyundai saloon car reportedly stolen in Lagos State and sighted in Lugbe.
A suspect found in possession of the vehicle was arrested, while a second suspect was subsequently apprehended. The vehicle has been recovered as investigation continues.
In Ebonyi State, police operatives acting on intelligence raided a suspected criminal gathering at Kpirikpiri. The suspects fled, abandoning a bag containing a locally made pistol loaded with one round of 9mm ammunition and a mobile phone allegedly belonging to a robbery victim.
One suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.
In Ekiti State, police responded to a distress call concerning the stabbing of a man at Oke Ureje, Ado-Ekiti, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
The victim, who sustained injuries from a broken bottle, was evacuated to a hospital where he is receiving treatment and is said to be in stable condition.
In Kaduna State, police operatives on routine patrol along the Kaduna-Kachia Highway intercepted two suspiciously conveyed vehicles.
Two suspects were arrested, while the vehicles were recovered and impounded for further investigation.
In Benue State, police tactical teams deployed to the Makurdi-Gboko Highway following a communal disturbance dismantled a road barricade and restored normal movement.
Three suspects were arrested, while additional security measures were activated to prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, in Ogun State, police detectives commenced investigations into an armed robbery involving the theft of a motorcycle and mobile phones valued at approximately ₦4.75 million.
The police have activated efforts to track the stolen phones and apprehend the suspects.
CSP Iniedu said the various cases remain under investigation, with efforts ongoing to apprehend fleeing suspects and recover additional exhibits.
The Force reiterated its commitment to intelligence-led policing and sustained operations against criminal elements across the country.
