The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, also known as “Abba Sale Police,” over the alleged murder of a resident of Karofin Madaki in Bauchi metropolis.

The suspect was apprehended on Monday, October 5, 2026, by operatives of the ‘A’ Division, Township, following information provided by a Good Samaritan.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to Habib, the suspect had been on the run for three months after allegedly participating in the killing of 46-year-old Rilwanu Dauda in the Karofi area.

He said the incident occurred on July 5, 2026, at about 9:30am, when Dauda was allegedly attacked and stabbed with a knife by Sale and his gang members.

The victim was subsequently taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor at about 11am on the same day.

The police spokesman said the command immediately commenced efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and placed them on its watchlist.

He added that the suspects had also been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same area before they went into hiding.

Habib said, “Acting on credible intelligence from a Good Samaritan, operatives attached to ‘A’ Division, Township, swung into action and on 5th October, 2026, exactly three months after the heinous crime, successfully arrested the principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang.”

He said the command was intensifying efforts to apprehend the other members of the group who remained at large.

The PPRO quoted the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, as commending the officers for their professionalism and persistence in tracking down the suspect.

The commissioner assured residents that the police would continue to pursue criminal elements across the state, warning that “no criminal will have a hiding place in Bauchi State.”

He further directed that the case be subjected to a thorough investigation and that the suspect be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
