This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force.
The training, which commenced on August 28, 2026, brings together selected PMF trainers and instructors from across the country to strengthen their instructional abilities, improve tactical competence and enhance the operational readiness of the Force’s 84 PMF Squadrons.
The event was attended by DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, DIG Operations; AIG Alonyenu Idu, who oversees the Police Mobile Force; DCP Sunday Audu Peter, Commandant of the PMF Training College, Ende-Hills; Commandant Brah Samson Umoru of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Nasarawa State, as well as commandants of other PMF training colleges.
The Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, who briefly attended the ceremony, congratulated the IGP and commended his efforts to strengthen the Nigeria Police Force.
Also speaking, AIG Alonyenu Idu praised the IGP’s leadership and commitment to repositioning the PMF, noting that the training would further equip personnel to preserve the operational standards and reputation of the Force’s tactical arm.
Addressing the participants, IGP Disu described the programme as a strategic investment in the future effectiveness of the PMF.
He stressed that the changing security environment demands continuous learning, adaptability, discipline and tactical competence, urging the instructors to serve as force multipliers by effectively transferring the knowledge gained to personnel in their various formations.
The IGP further emphasised that a modern Police Mobile Force must combine tactical capability with intelligence, precision, professionalism, discipline and strict adherence to the law.
He urged participants to focus on acquiring practical competence rather than merely obtaining certificates, stressing that the ultimate objective should be improved operational performance in the field.
The ceremony featured tactical displays and practical demonstrations by personnel undergoing the training, showcasing their skills, discipline and operational capabilities.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to continuous professional training, modernisation, personnel welfare and the provision of necessary operational resources to strengthen the effectiveness of the PMF in protecting lives and property across the country.
