The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a man, Nuhu Dahiru, for allegedly impersonating an operative of the commission and obtaining N3 million through false pretence in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Dahiru was arrested by operatives of the EFCC Maiduguri Zonal Directorate following credible intelligence about his alleged activities.
The suspect was apprehended at Tashan Bama, along Bama Road, Maiduguri, where he was allegedly posing as an EFCC official and using the identity to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
According to the commission, N3 million was recovered from him during the arrest.
The EFCC said investigations are ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court after the investigation is concluded.
