The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought Adeoye Gabriel Adewale and his company, De Lukas Global Concept Limited, before the Oyo State High Court over an alleged N7.819 million fraud involving a car buyer in Ibadan.
Adewale and the company were arraigned before Justice Olusola Adetujoye at the court in Ibadan.
The EFCC alleged that Adewale obtained the money from Abdulrasaq Awotedo after claiming to be a legitimate automobile dealer and promising to supply him with two vehicles.
According to the commission, the defendant allegedly used a fake showroom to create the impression that he operated a genuine car dealership before collecting the funds through the First Bank account of De Lukas Global Concept Limited.
The anti-graft agency further alleged that rather than using the N7.819 million for the purchase of the vehicles, Adewale diverted the money for personal purposes.
