Big Brother Naija officially returned on Sunday night with the launch of its 11th season, introducing 24 housemates who will compete over the next 72 days for a record-breaking grand prize worth ₦160 million.

Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, this year’s edition is themed “Everything Is For The Taking,” also known as “Show Ya Sef.” Organisers say the new season will feature higher stakes, unexpected twists and a newly redesigned house aimed at delivering an unforgettable viewing experience.

The eventual winner will take home ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV, making it the biggest prize package in the history of the reality television show.

The contestants were drawn from diverse backgrounds, including law, engineering, broadcasting, fashion, healthcare, business, entertainment and entrepreneurship, bringing a mix of personalities and experiences into the competition.

Among the first housemates introduced was Tram, a 24-year-old streamer from Lagos State, who declared that his only mission was to win the competition rather than pursue a romantic relationship.

He was followed by Temi Nkem, a 21-year-old model raised in London, who described herself as fiercely independent and determined to stay true to herself throughout the show.
One of the biggest talking points of the premiere came when Abi, a 25-year-old chef and model from Osun State, revealed that she is married, a disclosure that quickly generated reactions across social media.

Martins, a 30-year-old visual storyteller from Kogi State, also attracted attention after revealing that he is currently in a relationship.

The remaining housemates unveiled during the premiere are Chimsom Chuka, Keivo, Mercedes, Kamsi, Sultex, Aikou, Flora, Bells, Gerard, Oyin, Sheba, Araga, Ricky, Nomy, Barry, Neche, Yusuf, Goddessa, Bluethopia and Cassi, all of whom are expected to battle for the coveted title.

While some contestants admitted they were open to forming alliances and exploring romantic connections, others insisted they would remain focused solely on winning the competition.

This season also features a newly redesigned BBNaija house built around an “upside-down” concept, blending luxury interiors with bold colours to reflect the unpredictable nature of the game.

According to the organisers, constructing the house requires months of planning, design, sourcing and technical installation before it is transformed into a fully equipped television production facility.

Located beside the live studio in Lagos, the house is fitted with 52 robotic PTZ cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades and 19 speakers to ensure uninterrupted coverage throughout the season.

The production also provides employment for more than 1,000 Nigerians, including engineers, carpenters, electricians, decorators, camera operators, technical crews, caterers and other support personnel.

Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa, Atinuke Babatunde, said Season 11 builds on the programme’s legacy of authentic storytelling by introducing fresh personalities, bigger rewards and new twists that will keep viewers entertained until the grand finale.

The season premiere immediately sparked conversations across social media, with fans sharing their first impressions of the contestants and predicting who could emerge as the eventual winner.

Season 11 succeeds the 2025 edition, which was won by Imisi.
