A 37-year-old father of three, Taye Agbaje, allegedly killed his younger brother’s two children in a bush in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

On August 6, 2023, Taye went to his sibling’s house in Kemta area of the State and took the children, simply identified as Promise, 9 and Testimony, 7.

He drove them on his bike to a secluded area and macheted them with a cutlass.

In a circulating video, the suspect confessed to killing the victims, saying that he macheted them  thrice as they screamed.

He also denied the allegation that he used the children’s private parts for ritual. Although he revealed that he cut off their private parts, the Police couldn’t find the parts when they visited the crime scene.

Taiye thought he had concealed the heinous crime he committed but trouble started for him when his brother, Idowu, came home in the evening and started looking for his children.

He alerted members of the community, who told him they saw his children on his brother’s motorcycle during the day.

“The suspect exhibited no signs of remorse, continuously blaming his actions on satanic influences,” the State Police Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, said.

The suspect could not explain his motive for killing the children but was pleading for his brother’s forgiveness.
