The Police have arrested a 45-year-old man, Bankole Oginni, after his ex-lover was found dead inside his apartment in Oke Aro area of Akure, Ondo State capital.
The suspect was taken into custody after the victim’s daughter reported the incident at the Police Station.
Oginni, who claims to be a footballer, invited the deceased over to his house after which she became unreachable.
The complaint told the Police that she traced her mother’s whereabouts to the house. Shockingly, she found her legs and hands tied and her body opened with intestines removed.
There were also patches on the deceased’s body that showed signs of hot water burns, the State Police Spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, said.
The PPRO added that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue, while an investigation is ongoing.
