In Lagos State, a 63-year-old social worker, Mrs. Ayodele Idowu Lawal, residing in the Igando area, has been reported missing since Sunday. Mrs. Lawal attended church on that day but has not returned home since then.
As of the filing of this report on Monday, her whereabouts remain unknown. It was revealed that her phone was last tracked to FESTAC Town and has been switched off since that time. Mrs. Lawal is an active member of the Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW), Lagos State chapter.
A concerned member of the association sent a message urging well-meaning Nigerians to assist in the search for Mrs. Lawal. The message stated, “Dearest colleagues, the information reaching us now is that one of our members, Mrs. Lawal, is missing. She went to church yesterday and has not come back. Her phone was tracked to FESTAC Town and has been switched off. Kindly escalate to other platforms, please.”
The NASoW Chairperson in the state, Ms. Olubunmi Lamilisa, appealed to security agencies to join the efforts in locating Mrs. Lawal. “I am using this medium to appeal to the security agencies to help in the search for her. We have been informed that she is missing,” she said.
