Following recent agitations by some residents of Lagos State concerning complaints of the resurgence of traffic robberies and other disturbances, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has launched a state-wide operation designed to identify exact trouble spots, especially along construction areas and flush out criminals, particularly traffic robbers and other miscreants.
The operation code-named Operation Flush commences with immediate effect.
According to the State Police Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the CP held a meeting with all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders on Thursday and charged them to review their respective security architecture towards improving security in their respective AORs.
He also warned all DPOs against dereliction of duty, vowing that any officer found culpable would be dealt with in accordance with laid down rules.
Meanwhile, CP Owohunwa has assured residents of the State that the Command would continue to partner with the government and other stakeholders towards ensuring optimum safety and security for all and sundry.
