The Police Council has confirmed the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun as the substantive Inspector General of Police.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, to State House Correspondents after he met with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa.
According to Geidam, Egbetokun’s confirmation follows his satisfactory discharge of duties in the past three months since his appointment on June 20.
He noted that Egbetokun has also provided a blueprint for ensuring the security of the country, which indicates his suitability for the office.
