Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has expressed appreciation to the tribunal judges who affirmed his election as the duly elected governor of the state.

The State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos, on Friday, affirmed the election of Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The tribunal dismissed the petition filed by Nentawe Goshwe Yiltwatda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mutfwang was declared the winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC declared that the governor polled 525,299 votes beating Yiltwatda, who polled 481,370 votes at the polls.

The tribunal had earlier dismissed the petition filed by the governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Alfred Dabwan against Governor Mutfwang.

Taking to his official X handle, the governor also appreciated God for making his victory possible and the people of Plateau state for standing by his government.

“I want to thank the Lordships for having the heart to do according to the dictates of their conscience and according to the law,” the governor wrote.

Governor Mutfwang also assured the people of the state that his government would deliver on the hope they have placed in him.

“We will become more proactive in the days to come and with the programs we have started, we will accelerate them and ensure we will move at the best speed that we can to deliver. God bless Plateau State,” he also promised.

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in the Jos High Court validated my return as the duly elected candidate of the 18th March 2023 Governorship election in Plateau State.
