The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Monday, reserved judgement in the appeal by Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, challenging his sacking the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
Recall that on September 20, the tribunal nullified the election of Governor Yusuf. It declared that 165,663 of his votes were invalid.
According to the tribunal, the ballot papers were neither signed nor stayed by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The tribunal consequently declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasiru Gawuna as the winner of the governorship election.
Governor Yusuf, not satisfied with the judgment, appealed against the tribunal verdict and urged the court to set aside the judgement.
