JAMB Ends Investigation On Mmesoma’s Alleged Result Forgery
The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, says the Board had concluded investigations on the case of 19-year-old Ejikeme Mmesoma.
The examination board and Mmesoma have been going head to head on the authenticity of her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result. JAMB claims her original score is 249 while Mmesoma claims she scored 362, hence the overall best candidate in Anambra State.
According to the Registrar: “The truth is that JAMB has concluded the investigation on Nmesoma’s score falsification matter. She was not the only one caught, just that others have chosen not to go out.
“Presently, there is an industry faking results and unfortunately they cannot penetrate JAMB system, the reasons being that (our) system is foolproofed and we will prove it any time. It is unfortunate that parents and some of the candidates that are being fooled are not aware that they are only being fooled.
“There is internal evidence to show that the change in Ejikeme’s scores was done with her collaboration. There are certain features pertaining to her that only she knows unless she makes it available to somebody else. They couldn’t have increased her scores on her behalf.”
In the same vein, JAMB Spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, who was live on Channels, alleged that she was being ‘coached’ on what to say by people who want to project her as what she’s not.
“If you look at her posture, look at the video very well, if you look at the video critically, you will see that somebody is coaching her on what to say. Just sit down and look at the video she posted yesterday.”
In reaction to the incident, the father of the candidate, Romanus Ejikeme, also accused the board of working against his daughter.
“362 is the total score she got after that examination and she has been trending for more than two months now. Jamb did not challenge that her result was fake; It’s after two months and a week, they came up with the result. They are working against my daughter to pull her down with this new result, Nigeria and the whole world should know the truth. JAMB is working against my daughter and accusing her at the same time, I don’t like it,” he said.
