The Nigeria Police Force Spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has said he does not take bribes.
ACP Adejobi said this in response to a question by an X user.
The user had asked if he could swear by his village deity that he had never asked for or collected bail money from someone before since he was a traditional man.
The user wrote, “@Princemoye1 you’re a traditional man. Can you swear by your village deity that you’ve never asked or collected bail money from someone before?”
Sharing the tweet, the force spokesman said he even rejects gifts let alone taking or asking for bribes.
According to him, several people on X have been willing to recharge his phone but he usually appeals to them not to do such.
He noted that he was a crowned prince of Owu, so it’s ridiculous to take a bribe.
He wrote, “I have answered this. PR is in me. I joined NIPR in 2004 before I joined the police in 2005. I have been a PR man before I even applied to join the police. I even reject gifts. Many people on Twitter have been willing to recharge my phone, but I appeal to them not to do so. Those who know me know I reject gifts, let alone bride. I am a crowned prince of Owu, so it’s ridiculous to take a bribe. If you do well, Nigerians are very nice and ready to appreciate you, and bless you in all areas, if you are a nice officer.”
