Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, on Monday night, debunked rumours flying around social media that he is dead.
Gowon refuted the rumour through a statement by his personal aide, Adeyeye E. Ajayi.
Ajayi quoted Gowon as saying I am “still around and well.
“General Gowon is not in a hurry to go anywhere.”
Reports had emerged Monday evening, claiming the former Nigerian leader had died.
It is not clear where the rumour emanated from.
