A Spokesman for Hamas, Ghazi Hamad ended an interview with the BBC because he was asked to justify the killings of Israeli civilians by his group when it launched an attack on Israel on October 7.
Hamad who was interviewed by by BBC Middle East Correspondent Hugo Bachega, maintained that that the group’s multi-pronged attack on Israel which killed over 1,400 people was a “military operation”.
Recall that Hamas fighters broke through Israel’s heavily fortified border, shooting, stabbing and burning to death thousands of civilians.
Shell-shocked Israel has responded with withering air strikes on Hamas-controlled Gaza and by deploying tens of thousands of troops to the border in preparation for a full-scale ground offensive.
