    The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has advised Nigerians on what to do when officers at stop and search insist on taking them to the station even without finding any incriminating items on them.

    Adejobi asked all Nigerians to follow the officers to the station but on reaching the station, they should request to see the DPO.

    The force image maker disclosed this in response to a question asked by a concerned Nigerian on X.

    His response read, “Well when nothing incriminating is found, they should allow you to go.

    “However, if they insist you go with them to the station, go with them, but request to meet the DPO. When they take you in, there must be a senior officer on the ground, approach him. If they insist you don’t see him, move to the DPO office or charge room, which is always close to the DPO’s office. Someone must attend to you.

    He noted that there is a need to be far ahead of officers who are “dubious” and “corrupt” in the force.
